With Axiell BookDesire the end-user ends up in a game searching for a good book or a film. The end-user sets up different parameters for a title, and in answer to this he receives up to 15 different titles, that reflect his tastes – all presented with the book jackets and links to the library catalogue.
A benefit for the end-user
Axiell BookDesire is a unique service the library can offer its end-users. It is a new inspiring, graphical product, which stimulates the end-user to search for titles, he is not aware of and to find the pearl of wisdom in the library’s treasure chest.
The user can chose a genre e.g. detective books or “feel good” and then he can choose different parameters and decide e.g. how exciting it should be, or if it should be humoristic, or with more action, and depending on the setting of these parameters, a result with book jackets and a graphical presentation will appear on the browser.
Axiell BookDesire can be reached from a web browser or mobile phone.
And also a benefit for the library
Axiell BookDesire also helps the library by displaying the library’s collection in a new way -visualized with book jackets and titles presented in quite new themes.
Furthermore the knowledge at the library increases for the librarians, who enrich the titles with metadata, which are used in the system behind. On top the end-users have rating options.
The technique
A very advanced new technique created with artificial intelligence and semantic interpretation of data makes this possible. These two technical solutions go hand in hand.
Artificial intelligence is used to interpret the end-user’s different wishes. And the semantic interpretation of data makes it possible for the system to understand the values, lying behind each title in the database. Based on these two solutions the end-user receives qualitative recommendations, enhancing his benefits.
