2022 Axiell European User Conference – Conference Information

We’ve put together some helpful and important information for everyone attending this year’s event.

#AxiellEU22 takes place at the University of Manchester, on Wed 15 – Thu 16 June 2022, with most sessions also streamed for online attendees. The Axiell European User Conference is free for all Axiell users.

Travelling to the event

You will be able to see more detailed descriptions of sessions in the event app, which you will be able to access the week of the conference.

Arrival

For those joining us in Manchester, registration opens at 9am. Please enter via Oxford Road and register at the registration desk on the ground floor. There will be tea and coffee on arrival. Sessions will begin at 9:25am in Theatre A.

How do I access sessions online?

We will be streaming the sessions via Zoom. You will find the links to live streams in the event app. View the conference programme to find which room the session you want to attend is taking place in, then go to ‘Rooms & Live Streams’ and click the link to join the session.

Please note, although most sessions will be available for online attendees, some user discussions will not. Sessions that will not be available online will be marked on the agenda.

How do I access the event app?

The link to the app will be sent to attendees in the pre-event email the week of the conference. You can also scan the QR at the registration desk or on your conference programme.

What is the event’s Covid policy?

We will not be mandating any restrictions on entry or masks, and you will not be required to show a covid pass to attend the conference. We encourage attendees to do a lateral flow test before travelling to Manchester and to stay at home if testing positive or displaying symptoms.

Wi-Fi

Register for free Wi-Fi access with the University’s guest Wi-Fi network – UoM_Guest.

It’s easy to use – just connect to the UoM_Guest network on your laptop or mobile device, open your web browser and follow the onscreen instructions.

You can register with your Google, Facebook or Twitter account, or you can register via a text (SMS) message sent to your phone.

Evening reception

The venue for the evening reception is the beautiful Victoria Baths, located about 20 mins walk (or 5 mins in a taxi) from the Conference venue. The address is:

The Evening Reception starts at 7pm giving you plenty of time to check in at your hotel then make your way to the reception.

There will be a photographer on site

Please note, there will be a photographer taking pictures on both days of the event, with photos published after the event to the Axiell Facebook page. If you don’t want to be photographed, please stick a red dot to your name badge. These stickers will be available at the registration desk. We will then endeavour to keep you out of event photos. If your photo has been mistakenly published, please contact Thomas.gregory@axiell.co.uk and we will remove that right away.

Is there a cloakroom?

The cloakroom is located on the third floor, Room 3.214. Please note, the cloakroom is unstaffed and items are left at the owner’s risk.

Is there a dress code?

There is no dress code for the Conference or the Evening Reception. But if you have a particular museum/library themed outfit, we encourage you to wear it!

Can I refill my water bottle?

Yes, water refill stations are available on each floor of the venue.

I have a Library Pass – can I attend sessions in other streams?

Yes, you are welcome to attend any session across day 1 and day 2 of the conference.

I have a Collections Pass – can I attend sessions in other streams?

Yes, you are welcome to attend any session across day 1 and day 2 of the conference.

Can I attend sessions for software other than the software I use?

Yes, you are welcome to attend any session across day 1 and day 2 of the conference.

What are ‘Drop-in’ sessions?

We are scheduling drop-in sessions so that attendees can ask key members of the Axiell team any questions they have about their software or Axiell in general. These are available to in-person attendees. However, we are hoping to organise times for online attendees to book with Axiell staff as well.

What if I have a food allergy or special dietary requirements?

The dietary requirements you gave us when registering have been passed to the catering team. If you are unsure what ingredients something contains, please speak to a member of the catering team.

Lost and found

Please check if you have left your belongings in one of the venue rooms or cloakroom. If you still can’t locate your belongings, see someone at the registration desk or contact event support. We will aim to take all items left behind after the conference away with us. If, after the event, you realise you left something at the venue, please contact Thomas.gregory@axiell.co.uk

What to if I think I need first aid?

More on the Conference

The 2022 European User Conference will be our first hybrid conference, meaning those who can’t join us in-person will still be able to catch most sessions by registering for an ‘Online Pass’.

We will be following guidance around events closely, to ensure everyone joining us in Manchester has a safe and comfortable experience at the conference.

A reminder that, wherever you are in the world, you are able attend any of our conferences (where travel restrictions allow).
