Scarborough Museums Trust has announced the latest upgrade to Axiell’s EMu 6.0 CMS. The latest version has seen the tried and trusted Collections Management System get a major facelift. Not only does this make the new version a little more pleasing on the eye, but, more importantly, the user experience has been significantly improved.
It’s been an important upgrade for Scarborough Museums Trust, as you can see from their press release below…
Scarborough Museums Trust the first to use brand new collections management system EMu 6.0
Nestled on the North Yorkshire coast, Scarborough Museums Trust is making waves as the first in the world to upgrade to a brand new collections database system, EMu 6.0.
Collection databases are at the very heart of all museums, the tools of the trade which make sure museum objects are safely stored with the correct information. Without these databases, the wealth of knowledge surrounding the weird and wonderful objects would be mostly inaccessible. Therefore, with Collections Management technology taking significant strides, keeping up to date means that the museum is making the most of the incredible bank of information at their fingertips.
Jennifer Dunne, Collections Manager at Scarborough Museums Trust, said:
“We’re thrilled to be the first institution to upgrade to EMu 6.0. The new system looks great; we love the stylish new interface and we’re really excited about the possibilities the new features of EMu 6.0 will throw open to us in terms of our documentation workflow and making our collections more accessible to the public.”
Axiell’s EMu collections management system has been at the forefront of the industry for decades. However the new 6.0 upgrade gives the system the facelift it needed, with a new modern design, a more user-friendly and flexible system and improved accessibility support.
