This month we are thrilled to release the newest version of EMu!
EMu Version 8.0 marks a major advancement of the platform and provides several new features that have been developed in response to customer requests. Most notably, this will be EMu server’s first 64-bit release, an upgrade from all previous versions of EMu servers which were 32-bit.
What this means: with 64-bit processing in place, EMu 8.0 can handle files larger than 2G without partitioning them. 32-bit libraries no longer need to be installed on the EMu server and more memory can be allocated to the rebuild process to improve performance.
How to access the new 64-bit EMu version:
EMu 8.0 requires Texpress 10 which is the first release of a 64-bit version of Texpress that enables the use of Solr as the indexing mechanism for EMu. To get all the benefits of EMu 8.0, the EMu server must be upgraded to 64-bit. To give our community time to adapt, 32-bit EMu server releases will be available until the 1st of July and by request after that.
Additional platform enhancements:
OpenID Connect authorisation support extended
OpenID Connect is now available for all client installations.
Toggle for Field prompt and Column name
Certain dialogue boxes, including the Sort Properties and Field Properties dialogue boxes, did not support toggling between Field prompts (labels in the user interface) and the associated Column names. This ability has now been added to all dialogue boxes:
