Whether a new collection arrives that is listed in table format, you are engaged in large-scale digitisation, or a project requires that data be created in Excel prior to being ingested into your system, learning how to conduct imports will save you time, money, and resources.
Using this strategy, users can ingest huge amounts of data and circumvent the need for manual data entry.
This course covers the basic premises of how to import into Adlib, concentrating on data coming from Excel spreadsheets. Attendees learn about the different possibilities for exporting and importing data into and out of Adlib, mapping and creating import jobs. Some of the issues that arise when importing will be covered, as will solutions to these, including interpreting error messages and using adapl to help importing (an overview of adapl is included). The course uses a mixture of practical exercises and demonstrations. The standard Adlib software is used.
