Adlib – Sharpen your skills: Archive system essentials

Ben Doty Software Consultant

Most people don’t use the system to its full potential. On this course, you will look at the most common uses of the system, including creating and editing records, navigating, searching, and linking records together, to develop the skills to make you more efficient, more effective, and more confident in the program. New and experienced users alike will emerge with a better understanding of how to do what they need to do.

Attendees will learn how to create and edit Archival descriptions, accessions information and movement data, and how to search for, copy and print records. The course also includes creating and maintaining records in authority files, including the use of thesauri, and working with digital images. The course uses a mixture of practical exercises and demonstrations. The standard Adlib Archive application software is used

Trainer Ben Doty Ben Doty
Ben has worked for Axiell as a trainer since 2016, delivering online, on-site, and in-office trainings on an ever-increasing number of Axiell products. In addition, he assists with testing, performs data migrations, consults on new products, writes documentation, and helps out anywhere else necessary.

Ben came to Axiell from a heritage background, working and volunteering at many museums and archives, as well as pursuing a degree in Museum Studies, giving him an understanding of how customers are trying to use Axiell products that he uses to improve training.

I thoroughly enjoyed discovering the system, particularly through doing the set practical tasks, and how it sparked an interest for software development.
