Copenhagen, 27 April 2021 – Axiell, the world’s leading software and services provider for the cultural sector, announces that the Danish Parliament has chosen its collections management system, Axiell Collections, to manage their art collection of almost 2900 works of art. Axiell Collections has been deployed to help The Danish Parliament securely and efficiently manage, care for and track the many works of art in their collection.
The Danish Parliament (Folketinget in Danish, meaning People’s Assembly) is the national legislature of the Kingdom of Denmark and is located at Christiansborg Palace, the centre of Danish democracy. The Danish Parliament has a large collection of almost 2,900 registered works of art, with works also on loan from the State Museum of Art.
Liselotte Astrup, IT Development Manager at The Danish Parliament says, “It’s a very new system for us, which has only been in use for a few weeks. But already now we can see advantages of having such a large and advanced system compared to the old one, including advanced search and various types of extracts from the database, which were very difficult to perform in the past. So, we look forward to continuing to get to know Axiell Collections and all its possibilities.”
Axiell Collections is a modern, web-based collections management system that allows users to manage their collections from wherever they are. Axiell Collections is built to industry standards and is designed to make workflows more efficient, whether cataloguing, managing acquisitions and loans, managing movements, storage or conservation, or organizing events. Axiell Collections provides the infrastructure for organisations looking to work with their collections in a collaborative and modern way, including the 100 state museums in Denmark that also use the solution.
Maria Wasing, COO/EVP, Axiell added: “We are thrilled to welcome the Danish Parliament to Axiell’s community of users. The work of our customers is fundamental to the development of society, empowering citizens by providing access to culture and knowledge, so it is with a great deal of pride that we welcome the home of Danish democracy to the Axiell family.”
