Lund, Sweden, 27 April 2021 – Axiell, the world’s leading software and services provider for the cultural sector, announces that Göteborgs Högre Samskola Indepepndent School has chosen Axiell’s cloud-based school library system WeLib. Their goal is to enable all 1,600 students to leverage the school library’s resources through a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate system where the entire collection of books is available.
Göteborgs Högre Samskola is an independent school that serves students from preschool through high school. The school library wanted a more user-friendly library system and chose WeLib as it exceeded their expectations and needs for a new system.
“We are currently working on digitising our book collection and WeLib is a great fit. The students will enjoy and benefit from the possibilities offered by the system. My expectation is that students will actively use WeLib as a tool in their daily schoolwork; that they will give book tips, review books, create and share collections and publish their work. I would like the students to be co-creators and in this way the library activities become a natural part of schoolwork. The ambition is for the system to be used, not just by me as a librarian”, says Sofia Åberg, librarian at Göteborgs Högre Samskola.
WeLib is a modern, complete school library system with educational functionality. It is an accessible system that allows educators, librarians and students to interact digitally from anywhere. WeLib is a repository for all educational material at the school and handles both digital and physical resources. Students can take the school library with them wherever they go.
