Axiell, the world’s leading provider of software and services for the cultural sector, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sebastian Svärdebrandt as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this new role, Sebastian will oversee the technical strategy and development to ensure transformational initiatives globally to drive scalability.
As CIO, Sebastian will unify teams and technologies, oversee the development of applications, and manage the transition of Axiell’s platforms to Software as a Service (SaaS). He will also own the company’s cloud strategy, integrate information and technology into the business model, and prioritize cybersecurity strategy and risk management.
This appointment strengthens Axiell’s capability to lead digital transformation for museums, archives, libraries and schools, addressing their current needs and anticipating future growth requirements.

Sebastian brings over 20 years of high-level IT industry experience, most recently from Nord-lock Group and previously from Sony Mobile and Sony Ericsson. He successfully established a global IT organization at Nord-Lock and implemented a comprehensive IT strategy with functions migrated into a common cloud service.
