Stockholm, Sweden, 25 March 2026 – Axiell, the world’s leading software and services provider for the cultural sector, announces the pilot launch of Quria Discovery AI, an AI powered catalogue search tool designed to transform how borrowers explore and engage with library collections. Forumbiblioteken in Nacka, Sweden, will be the first to implement the tool, bringing Quria Discovery AI to kiosks across its three library branches.
Quria Discovery AI brings the ease and comfort of modern AI chat tools to the library, offering borrowers an intuitive, private and personalised entry point into the catalogue. Accessible through text and voice interactions in over 20 languages, users can engage in natural conversation with the AI tool, refine queries in their own words, and receive personalised suggestions for media across the library catalogue. The tool can help users articulate their interests and inspire exploration beyond familiar genres or topics.
“With Quria Discovery AI, we are making it easier for borrowers to connect with the full depth of their library’s offerings in a way that feels natural, accessible, and welcoming,” said Maria Wasing, CEO of Axiell. “The tool is designed to augment the expertise of librarians, acting as a supportive extension of their work to encourage deeper, more meaningful engagement with library assets. With Quria Discovery AI, library staff can connect readers with resources they may have never encountered otherwise leveraging the full power of a rich library catalogue, offering a new world of reading to discover.”
Quria Discovery AI was developed in partnership with Digital Venue, a Swedish company that designs AI-native software to sit on top of existing platforms and works in isolation with organisation-owned data. With this security-first mindset baked into the development of the tool, Quria Discovery AI operates entirely within a library’s Quria infrastructure, ensuring complete data containment, privacy and governance. No external data sources are accessed, and no login is required, enabling private, safe, and frictionless exploration for users of all ages.
The tool is the latest addition to Axiell’s Library Experience Management (LXM) framework; an ecosystem of modern solutions and professional training that helps libraries create a fully integrated digital experience tailored to their communities. Quria Discovery AI is currently available to customers by request. Please reach out here to inquire about joining the waitlist or register for news about the tool.
